Personal Life and Experience

Ozan grew up in Fethiye, a coastal town in southwestern Türkiye. Before pursuing a legal career in Canada, he spent over a decade working in banking, finance, and regulatory compliance, gaining experience in corporate lending, project finance, anti-money laundering, and international sanctions.

Ozan earned his LL.M. in Financial Law from Goethe University Frankfurt as a recipient of the European Commission’s Jean Monnet Scholarship. He also gained international legal experience through an internship with Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in Germany.

After moving to Canada in 2020, Ozan earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Ottawa and was called to the Ontario and Alberta Bars in 2025. He currently practises law in Calgary, focusing on litigation, negotiation, and dispute resolution.

Ozan takes pride in combining his international background and financial-sector experience with his legal knowledge to develop practical, effective solutions for his clients.

Outside work, Ozan enjoys playing the saxophone, riding motorcycles, sailing, and exploring the outdoors.

Personal Life and Experience

Born and raised in Chandigarh, India, Navneet (Nav) Kaur is a Divorce and Family Law Lawyer with over a decade of legal experience in India before immigrating to Canada in 2022. Beginning her legal career in 2012, she practised family and matrimonial law, civil litigation, and served as in-house counsel in the private sector. She represented diverse clients before the District Court of Chandigarh and the Punjab and Haryana High Court, India, developing a strong foundation in litigation, negotiation, and alternative dispute resolution.

After moving to Canada, Nav completed her articling at a Calgary law firm and has practised as a Divorce and Family Litigation Lawyer since. Licensed in both India and Canada, she brings an international perspective and a practical understanding of the legal, financial, personal, and cultural considerations that can arise in family disputes.

Nav advises and represents clients in a broad range of family law matters, including divorce, parenting arrangements, complex property division, business division, travel applications, restraining orders, and emergency protection orders. She also assists clients with carefully tailored pre-nuptial and post-nuptial agreements, cohabitation agreements, and complex separation agreements designed to protect their interests and provide future clarity. Her background in civil and matrimonial litigation further informs her practical, strategic approach to resolving disputes.

Nav assists clients in contested and uncontested family law matters, with experience ranging from negotiated out-of-court settlements and consensual resolutions to mediation and court intervention. She has represented diverse clients in mediation and has appeared before the Court of King’s Bench of Alberta and the Alberta Court of Justice. Her approach combines strong courtroom advocacy with a compassionate, client-centred perspective. Whether pursuing litigation, negotiating settlements, or exploring mediation, Nav works closely with her clients to develop practical strategies tailored to their circumstances, with an emphasis on achieving fair and long-term outcomes while navigating challenging family transitions with clarity and confidence.

Nav is committed to improving access to justice and has volunteered with Calgary Legal Guidance as a Family Law Program Lawyer since May 2025, helping provide legal assistance to individuals who may otherwise face financial barriers to accessing legal services.

Fluent in English, Hindi, Punjabi, and Urdu, she serves clients from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds, emphasizing clear communication and personalized legal guidance.

Outside her legal practice, Nav enjoys spending quality time with her family, running marathons, exploring her culinary passions, discovering new cuisines, and immersing herself in nature. She values opportunities to unwind outdoors and explore new places with her family, finding balance and inspiration in these experiences.
