Personal Life and Experience

Shawn grew up on a farm in Central Alberta. After earning a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Alberta in 2004, he moved to Calgary and split his time as an engineer with the EUB working in energy regulations, and a major oil and gas producer working as a reservoir engineer. Shawn received his MBA and law degrees from the University of Calgary in 2011. He then articled with a national law firm and spent time working as a patent lawyer for a sole practitioner.

Shawn takes pride in being a lawyer who has actual business experience and can associate that experience with the law to come up with the best business solutions for his clients.

Shawn has represented clients at every level of court in Alberta, including the Provincial Court, Court of Queens’ Bench, and the Court of Appeal.
Shawn enjoys spending time with his wife and three children, being a recreational league hockey player, singing, playing piano, guitar, ukulele and being physically active.

Personal Life and Experience

Samuel grew up in Calgary, Alberta, where he developed a strong sense of community and commitment to service. There he studied Criminal Justice at Mount Royal University before heading to Ottawa to pursue his Juris Doctor at the University of Ottawa’s Faculty of Law.

Following his graduation, Samuel began his legal career in Toronto, gaining experience in diverse legal areas and honing his skills in client advocacy and legal strategy. During the pandemic, he returned to Alberta to be closer to family and serve the community where he was raised.

Samuel’s practice in Alberta encompasses a broad range of legal matters, and is now focused on delivering compassionate and strategic support in family law cases, prioritizing solutions that address clients’ unique family dynamics. His compassionate and strategic approach helps clients navigate challenging transitions while protecting their interests and promoting stability for their families.

Outside of work, Samuel enjoys travelling, hiking, and staying active through weightlifting and Latin dancing.
